Holywell
Holywell bay boasts a glorious stretch of golden beach sheltered by wonderful sand dunes. Standing impressively in the sea are the two islets known as Gulls Rock and this backdrop provides the fantastic setting for many of the scenes in series two of Poldark. Holywell Bay provides the stunning coastal location for a beach scene in Poldarkā€™s second series with Ross walking on the beach as two children run past. Many dramatic and poignant scenes were also filmed at Holywell Bay, including the courting of Caroline Penvenen and Dr Dwight Enys and also the dramatic scene in episode nine where Demelza wades through the waves fully dressed in her ballgown, first spotted by Ross overlooking from the clifftop above.
