Irish airline Aer Lingus are now providing routes from North America and Canada (via Dublin) to Newquay in Cornwall (the home of Poldark). Departure destinations include New York, Boston, Hartford, Chicago and Toronto.

Martin Saxton, of Stobart Air ( who are the operator of Aer Lingus Regional), said: “We are pleased to be able to connect Cornwall based customers to Aer Lingus’s main line trans-Atlantic services via Dublin. With up to seven flights weekly during summer months, Aer Lingus Regional passengers can now do pre-clearance in Dublin. This service is designed to save time and hassle for Cornwall passengers on their transatlantic travel and offer them an affordable, time efficient and convenient route to the US, be that for business or pleasure.”

The managing director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, Al Titterington, said: “Expanding our route network through cost effective, indirect routes further enhances the destination options available to those wishing to fly from Cornwall and the added bonus of the Immigration pre-clearance in Dublin will be of real benefit to passengers using this route to access North America. The routes also increase the number of overseas markets that can reach Cornwall with ease, helping to further support the tourism sector and economy of Cornwall.”
