Welcome to Ayr Holiday Park in St Ives
With 30 miles of beautiful Atlantic coastline to admire, there can’t be many campsites with a view or location like ours. It’s no wonder that many of our guests return year after year for their fill of sea Ayr!
Whether you’re a traditional under-canvas camper, or love the comfort of a modern caravan, you’ll find the holiday you want at Ayr. We have something for everyone, with a combination of luxurious holiday caravans, self-catering apartments, and touring pitches.
Ayr is open all year – so if you’re looking for a summer seaside holiday or prefer the peace and beauty of the Cornish winter, we’re an excellent base (and we’ve made sure the shower blocks are extra-cosy for off-season guests!).
We’ve been graded at 5 Pennant standard by the AA – so you can be confident that our facilities are excellent.
Caravan Holiday Homes
Touring & Camping
There’s nothing like a holiday under canvas, or in the comfort of your own caravan or camper. At Ayr, we have pitches for tents, motor-caravans and touring caravans.
Most of the touring and camping pitches have stunning views across St Ives Bay and out over the sea. The site is naturally sloping; however, terracing keeps the pitches level, while ensuring that more guests have those fabulous outlooks.
There are both hard-standing and grass pitches, and almost all of them have an electric hook-up (16 amp) and water. You are welcome to have a gazebo as well as your tent or caravan, provided it doesn’t encroach on your neighbours.
Ayr’s facilities are outstanding. There is a modern shower block (with underfloor heating – after all, we are open all year), dishwashing and laundry rooms, and waste disposal points. Everything is maintained to a really high standard, and this is one of the reasons why our guests return year after year.
Another reason of course is our excellent location. The only camp site actually in St Ives, it’s just a ten-minute walk to the beaches and town (you may prefer to catch the bus back up, which stops at the campsite entrance!). Once you’ve set up on your pitch, you won’t need to move your vehicle again if you don’t want to – a real holiday for the driver! With The Garrack Hotel next door, you have access to extra comforts, including a swimming pool and restaurant.
As an alternative to the static caravans, we also have two well-appointed apartments available. These comfortable holiday homes are perfect if you want the facilities and atmosphere of the park, but prefer a solid roof over your head! We especially recommend our apartments for winter breaks, so you can enjoy the beauty of the winter sea from the comfort of your sofa…Carbis and Gwidden are both ground-floor apartments, but their slightly elevated position gives them views across the park and out to sea. Each sleeps up to four guests, in a double and a twin bedroom. A light and comfortable sitting room, a well-equipped dining kitchen and a shower room complete these appealing apartments.Like our camping guests, you can use the swimming pool and sauna at The Garrack Hotel for a small charge – and if you fancy a night off cooking, pop up to the restaurant or café bar! You can, of course, use all the park’s facilities. All bed linen is included, and you can hire towels for £4 per set. We regret that pets and smoking aren’t allowed in the apartments (and we reserve the right to charge guests towards the cost of cleaning if these rules aren’t adhered to). However, if you want to bring your dog to Ayr, several of the static caravans are dog-friendly. Parking for Carbis and Gwidden is available outside the apartments.
