Polgaver Beach is a stunning location, however, it is approximately a 15 minute walk from the car park. Despite the distance, the peaceful ambience of the beach makes it well worth the journey. Dogs are not permitted on the beach during peak season, and visitors are advised to check local signs for exact guidance.

Visitors should note this beach is occasionally frequented by naturists, although it is not a designated nudist beach.

Additionally, the area was once a bustling mining hub, and visitors can still explore remnants of old mines and a nearby port at Charlestown, which is 3km west. The port is renowned for its picturesque harbour and has been featured in period dramas like Poldark.

For visitors who desire a livelier beach atmosphere, Carlyon Beach is located at the bay's west end with a larger expanse of coarse sand and crystal-clear waters.
