Porthleven Beach is a wide, steeply shelving sand and shingle beach, stretching for nearly three miles. The beach runs east from the historic harbour in Porthleven and at low tide you can walk south along the beach to Loe Bar Beach, which is only 1.5km away.
However, caution is advised when it comes to the tides and entering the water, as there are strong undercurrents here. Only experienced surfers should attempt to catch the waves at this beach, as it is known for its popularity among the surfing community.
