Porthoustock is an ideal destination for history buffs and those who appreciate industrial relics. A disused concrete silo is seen at one side of the beach. Despite its industrial past, Porthoustock Beach has managed to maintain its charm and beauty. The beach itself is made up of dark sand and shingle, but it's at its best during low tide. Although the waters are not suitable for swimming, the beach is a great place to relax with a book and soak up the sun.
